Trip to homestead FL
Our tire tools arrived as planned and we were able to hit the road South for Homestead FL. In order for legal registration as other than a school bus, there are a few things that need to be done to it before it can be driven on the roads. Once these conditions have been met and we have our registration from VT stating it is a motorhome. There is no longer a need for a CDL to operate the bus.
Upon our arrival in Homestead we promptly get to work on the bus and work until the sun is setting. We got all of the decals and stop signs removed. Carmen moved the yellow light covers to the front of the bus and the red light covers to the back. We are officially meeting the requirements of operation as other than a school bus.

A new look
Once the plates arrive we will be moving the bus across town to change the front steering tires and do an allignment before the trip back north of Tampa, FL.

Being our progress went much faster than expected with the bus prep, and the usps mail cannot say the same at this time. We decided to head even furthur south to continue our wait for the plates in Key West. This trip to Key West will be different than the past two. This trip will be in the Jeep "stealth camping". Stealth camping means the seats fold down, an air mattress gets blown up and a bed is fashioned right inside the Jeep. Making it possible to park and sleep when parked discreetly free of charge.
A view of a key west sunset
We have now been in key west for several days and nights, and we have an amazing setup for the overnights. The Jeep is still outfitted with the air mattress and bedding for Michelle and sunshine to enjoy. Carmen has moved to the "couch", he set up a hammock in the sea grape tree on Higgs Beach and using the underquilt and a fleece blanket happily sleeping under the stars.

Next update will come upon our return to homestead for more work on the bus. That time frame is determined by our plates riding on the truck of the USPS.
Thanks for tuning in!
